## Summary

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), a central government agency based in London, is planning a procurement titled "On-Farm Kill & Carcase Collection Open Framework Agreement". This procurement falls under the services category and involves animal husbandry and agricultural services across the UK. It is facilitated by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Currently in the planning stage, this is a re-procurement of an existing framework, expected to launch in September 2026. The upcoming framework has a planned contract period from 1st May 2027 to 30th April 2035, and it will support projects primarily aimed at TB control. Key dates include a market engagement feedback deadline on 26 June 2025, with the resulting tender set to be open to entities such as Defra, APHA, the Welsh Government, and the Scottish Government. A formal tender process is anticipated to be conducted through an open procedure.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses involved in animal husbandry, professional and specialist services, and those capable of providing rapid-response services like carcass handling and disposal where needed. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to engage due to the suitability noted in the procurement plan. By participating in this framework, businesses can secure long-term work, foster partnerships with central government entities, and broaden their market presence within the UK. The framework's multi-lot structure ensures diverse opportunities for providers to showcase a wide range of skills and specialised services, catering to various needs within the agricultural and environmental sectors.
