## Summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council initiated a procurement process for lift maintenance services across different sectors within their jurisdiction, including high-rise buildings, public facilities such as schools, and residential properties. This process, associated with the Open Contracting ID "ocds-h6vhtk-068ff2" and tender ID "SMBC 26025", was structured into three distinct lots, each representing a sector of maintenance services required. The industry category is maintenance services, specifically focusing on lift maintenance, with services extending across locations primarily within the UKG37 region, including Oldbury, United Kingdom. Initially, the procurement procedure was at the active stage, set under an open procedure method, with a closing date for tender submissions on 1st June 2026. However, the tender was subsequently cancelled on 3rd June 2026 due to technical considerations necessitating further investigation, as outlined in the cancellation notice.

This tender presented significant opportunities for businesses involved in lift maintenance and repair services. Companies proficient in providing comprehensive maintenance solutions, capable of responding to emergency breakdowns on a 24/7 basis, and offering services in both public and private sectors would find this tender advantageous. The procurement was structured to be inclusive of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with criteria favouring both qualitative and price-based evaluations. Each lot catered to different market needs, potentially allowing specialised companies to showcase expertise in specific sectors like high-rises, schools, and residential environments. Given the tender's substantial financial value and the provision of recurring service requirements, it could serve as a reliable growth avenue for businesses able to meet the tender specifications and operational capacity requirements in the Sandwell region.
