## Summary

The procurement process for telecoms services was conducted by The Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London, focusing on enhancing broadband telecoms services essential for surveillance operations at London Bridge, Blackfriars, and Southwark Bridge. The procurement, with a contract start date of 31st March 2026 and running till 31st March 2028, was directly awarded to Colt Technology Services. This public authority procurement, which falls under the industry category of information technology services, was conducted using a below-threshold direct method without competition due to the necessity of maintaining existing live circuits that serve vital security functions. The total contract value for the two-year term amounts to £88,776, covering five circuits servicing approximately 70 surveillance cameras.

This tender presents significant opportunities for business growth, particularly for those involved in telecommunications and IT service maintenance, as it highlights the continuous need for reliable broadband services to support urban infrastructure and security. While this contract has been awarded without competition, it showcases potential areas for future tenders where companies providing innovative or cost-effective solutions could play a role. Businesses adept at managing and maintaining telecoms infrastructure, especially in urban settings, could find similar tenders beneficial for expanding their portfolio in public safety and smart city operations.
