## Summary

The BBC is initiating a public procurement process to find solutions for a new Sport Production Asset Management (PAM) Library system. Under the planning stage, this procurement focuses on transforming the current asset management system towards a more agile, cloud-based solution, enabling efficient workflows and integration of BBC Sports media and data. The procurement falls under the services industry category, with specific classifications including software and industry-specific software packages. The location for the delivery is within the United Kingdom. Suppliers are invited to express interest by 19th June 2026, and further communication will ensue from 6th July 2026. The procurement process is above the financial threshold, ensuring wide participation.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in cloud computing, software development, and multimedia package solutions. The BBC is looking for innovative solutions that enhance asset management while ensuring adaptability and sustainability for future requirements. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are especially encouraged to participate, as their agility and innovative capabilities align well with the BBC's objectives for this procurement. Successful participation could lead to contract opportunities extending up to November 2031, offering long-term growth prospects for businesses able to meet the technical and integration demands of BBC Sport's evolving digital landscape.

## Notice

The BBC's core requirements for a Sport Production Asset Management (PAM) system focus on a user orientated "single pane of glass" concept, ensuring production teams experience seamless workflows from pre-ingest to publication and archive, while enabling simple send and restore of content and data. The vision is to move the core Sport production facilities from the current on premise thick client broadcast-based asset management system towards a cloud and web-based solution that gives future facing flexibility for digital workflows. Access, integration and maximising the potential of BBC Sports media and data assets in the future are the key drivers, but without jeopardising the live fast turnaround workflows which form the core infrastructure for ensuring the highest quality audience experience. This RFI aims to explore how a replacement PAM can deliver these wide-ranging system integrations to transition BBC Sport to a future ready system capable of delivering current and future workflows. This includes a secure and governed ingest; consistent, enriched and persistent data across all production areas; reliable multi storage integration and management of assets; and a strategic migration towards modern, cloud-aligned workflows that support durability, scalability and long-term sustainability. The information provided is to guide Suppliers about the proposed direction of travel for BBC Sport but is also intended to provide a baseline for ideas and innovation from suppliers to deliver a dynamic and integrated solution.
