## Summary

The Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales Police, in conjunction with North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, has initiated an open procurement process to appoint multiple contractors for "FM Reactive & Planned Maintenance Building Works." This contract involves maintenance and installation works across a diverse portfolio of approximately 120 properties located in North Wales, including police and fire stations. The tender, active since 8th May 2026, encompasses a five-year contract period starting from 1st October 2026, with two potential one-year extensions. The procurement process, governed by open procedures, has a submission deadline for tenders set for 12th June 2026, and is mainly focused in the works industry category.

This procurement process offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in building completion work and repair and maintenance services. Ideal candidates are those capable of providing comprehensive services, such as ground works, joinery, and minor plumbing, with the capacity for 24/7 response to maintenance calls. With a focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs), businesses have the chance to secure a spot as one of the five contractors, benefitting from a sizeable contract value capped at £50,000 per planned project. This offers stability and growth potential for businesses engaged in construction and maintenance services, particularly those with expertise in handling urgent building repairs and possessing robust operational capacities in North Wales.
