## Summary

The University of Bristol is inviting submissions for a five-year support and maintenance contract titled "Hydraulic System Support." This tender is part of the organisation's internal procurement policy and is not subject to the Procurement Act 2023. The project aims to maintain the hydraulic ring main and ancillary systems located in Bristol, UK, with the contract running from 1st August 2026 to 31st July 2031, and options for extension up to 2036. The procurement stage is currently at the tender phase, open through an open competition method, with a total estimated contract value of £240,000. Interested parties must submit their proposals electronically by 11th June 2026, whilst any inquiries should be made by 1st June 2026.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in repair and maintenance services for hydraulic systems to secure a long-term partnership with a major educational institution. Companies with experience in planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance services, especially those capable of leveraging data to enhance system reliability, would find this contract particularly suitable. Additionally, businesses offering comprehensive inventory and parts management solutions will be at an advantage in meeting the University's requirements. This contract provides stable revenue potential and the chance to support both academic research and commercial activities facilitated by the University's hydraulic systems.

## Notice

Note: This tender process will be governed by the internal Procurement Policy of the University of Bristol. For the avoidance of doubt, for the purposes of this procurement, the University of Bristol is not a Contracting Authority for the purposes of the Procurement Act 2023, which will accordingly not apply to this procurement. The objective of the tender is to secure a support and maintenance contract to support the hydraulic ring main and associated systems in Queen's building, University of Bristol. Any proposal should cover solutions to planned, preventative and reactive maintenance with a clear pricing structure and responsibility matrix. In addition, potential suppliers should offer inventory and parts proposals. It is desirable that any prospective supplier should be able to demonstrate methods to exploit maintenance data in order to improve reliability of the hydraulic system and overall service delivery. The hydraulic system is a facility power supply to research laboratories that powers such items as a large earthquake simulator, actuation and control machines, material test machines and bespoke equipment for a variety of research activities. The facility is used primarily to support research outcomes but does also support high-value commercial work.
