## Summary

The procurement process for the "Warm Homes: Local Grant (private domestic)" project, led by Gateshead Borough Council, has reached the contract award stage. This public procurement falls under the industry category of construction work and is specifically focused on retrofit and de-carbonisation efforts for private homes in Gateshead, UKC2 region. The contract, valued at £12,750,000, was awarded to Equans Regeneration Ltd on 7th May 2026. The award followed a limited procurement method, executed without a prior public call for competition, due to its nature as a further competition under a regional framework agreement. The project aims to improve energy efficiency across targeted areas of Gateshead through effective management and coordination of retrofit services and customer engagement initiatives.

This tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in construction with capabilities in thermal insulation and energy efficiency improvements. Companies with experience in managing large-scale retrofit projects or possessing technical proficiency in managing comprehensive property assessments and compliance with standards like PAS2035 and PAS2030 would be well-positioned to compete. Small-to-medium enterprises may find opportunities in supply chain management or partnering with larger contractors like Equans Regeneration Ltd to deliver specific aspects such as property design or customer management. The project promotes collaboration across sectors, thus providing growth potential for firms aiming to expand their services in the retrofit and construction industry in the region.
