## Summary

King Edward VI High School, a leading 11-18 co-educational academy located in Stafford and a member of the Walton Multi Academy Trust, has initiated a catering tender to provide services to its approximately 647 pupils and 87 staff members. The contract, valued at £810,000 gross over a potential seven-year period (3+1+1), is in the tender stage and follows a Competitive Flexible Procedure. Interested suppliers must submit a Procurement Specific Questionnaire by 9th June 2026. The chosen supplier will be expected to deliver high-standard, innovative food services while maintaining a quality managerial and staffing structure. The project offers substantial financial opportunities given its significant scale and projected contract duration, with a requirement for a participatory, open financial relationship.

This tender presents a strategic opportunity for caterers, particularly those experienced with educational institutions and similar contract arrangements like TUPE and LGPS under Admitted Body Status. Provided through a multi-tier competition focused on the Most Advantageous Tender (MAT) principle, the process evaluates cost, quality, technical capacity, and sustainability, providing a growth avenue for businesses prioritising comprehensive service quality over price alone. The opportunity is suitable for SMEs capable of demonstrating robust contractual capability, offering strong potential for contractors to secure a foothold in the public sector catering market and enhance their business profile through partnership with a reputable educational institution.
