This particular contract, titled "North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust Out of Area Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Placement Reference Number LD/RB42," falls under the psychiatric hospital services industry category. The contract pertains to specialised psychiatric care in the UK region UKK11, awarded through the Healthcare Services Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023, using a limited procurement method. The procurement stage is complete, and the contract was awarded on 1st May 2026, with the estimated duration specified only as nominal due to the unpredictable care needs involved. The total contract value is £28,616.00.

This procurement provides business growth opportunities primarily for large-scale healthcare institutions capable of delivering specialised psychiatric intensive care services, such as the Priory Hospital Bristol, which successfully secured this contract. Businesses well-suited to compete for such tenders should possess the capacity to provide highly specialised, inpatient mental health care, with the flexibility to adapt to the immediate and ongoing needs of acute mental disorder patients. Companies previously engaged in spot purchasing arrangements or those with capabilities in comprehensive treatment delivery within psychiatric settings are particularly positioned to benefit from such service requirements. This award highlights the importance of swift provider responses within restrictive timeframes and the capacity to address highly specialised service demands in national markets.
