## Summary

The public procurement process for the provision of General Medical Services (GMS) to CWP Secure Services has been concluded by the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The contract, focusing on hospital support services, has been awarded to Readesmoor Group Practice under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This direct award was completed without prior publication of a call for competition and covers the period from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027, valued at £30,898. The entire process took place in the UK, specifically in the Chester region, aligning with the industry classification of hospital support services, and was formally confirmed on 28th May 2026. The tender is in the award stage with the contract now active as of 14th May 2026.

This contract presents opportunities for businesses in the healthcare sector, particularly those specialising in supporting mental health services and integrated physical health monitoring. Since the procurement method used did not involve a competitive bidding process, similar contracts may provide opportunities for businesses capable of offering specialised medical services in collaboration with NHS trusts. Large-scale providers that can ensure seamless care delivery, integrate effectively with existing service frameworks, and offer continuous patient support and training would be well-positioned to benefit from such procurement processes. Additionally, engaging in such tenders allows businesses to reinforce their credentials within a regulated NHS environment, thereby expanding their market presence and expertise.

## Notice

It is nationally recognised that service users with a Mental Health condition or Learning Disability are more likely to also have physical health issues and residing in inpatient services for long periods of time can result in service user's being more likely to develop long term physical health conditions. A number of service user's within each of the units covered by the service level agreement will have been admitted from outside of the Cheshire footprint and therefore will not be registered with a local GP. This service provision allows access to ongoing physical health monitoring/ screening. General Medical Services are necessary for our secure mental health service users and we are happy with the service that Readesmoor GP practice have provided to date, we have no issues and are happy to continue with the Provider for the next year via Direct Award C
