## Summary

The procurement process is currently in the planning stage as of 20th May 2026, with a framework agreement in place. The contract aims to provide consultancy support for transport policy development, minor and major transport schemes, and maintenance programmes across the UKD61 region. The contract period is planned to begin on 5th February 2027 and could extend up to 2035. This service-based procurement falls under the industry category of urban planning and landscape architectural services, governed by legal basis 2023/54. The official communication date for notice is set for 4th February 2027.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in urban planning, transport consultancy, and landscape architectural services, particularly those looking to engage in long-term projects with local governments. The framework is particularly suited for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) due to its flexible contract terms and the potential for secondment arrangements to cover temporary staff requirements. Companies with robust experience in developing transport policies or delivering integrated transport projects would find this tender an excellent opportunity to establish durable relationships with multiple councils and contribute to substantial public realm improvements across the specified regions.
