## Summary

Derby City Council is in the planning stage of procuring a Community Short Breaks Framework aimed at providing targeted services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within the Health and Social Work Services industry category. This procurement is valued at £1,000,000 and will operate under a framework agreement from 1st April 2027 to 31st March 2029, with the possibility of renewal until March 2031. The procurement process is currently in the consultation phase, which began on 21st May 2026 and will conclude on 19th August 2026. The Council is located in Derby, United Kingdom, and it is conducting this preliminary stage to engage with existing and potential new providers for these crucial community services.

This tender offers significant opportunities for growth, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) capable of delivering specialised care services. Given the focus on children and young people with SEND, businesses experienced in health and social work services are especially well-suited to compete. The tender will provide a stable financial inflow due to its substantial annual worth and long contract period, offering businesses a chance to collaborate with a sub-central government public authority. Engaging in this procurement could enhance a business's profile within the public sector and establish long-term partnerships with the local government in Derby.
