## Summary

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority has successfully completed a procurement process, awarding a contract for "Forensic road collision investigation training" to AI Training Services Ltd. This tender falls under the industry category of higher education services and is associated with the provision of forensic training for collision investigators. Based in Manchester, the buying organisation is a sub-central governmental public authority. The procurement was carried out through a direct method under the exemptions process, signifying that it was below the competitive threshold. The contract, signed on 24 April 2026, is set to run until 31 March 2031, highlighting the essential long-term service requirements for Greater Manchester Police.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in the provision of specialised educational and training services, particularly those focusing on forensic or investigative domains. It is especially suited for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) that have the capability to deliver accredited training programs meeting legal and technical standards such as ISO 17020. The contract's extended duration offers sustained business growth potential for the awarded supplier, AI Training Services Ltd., and highlights the importance of niche expertise in securing government contracts through exemption-based procurement methods.

## Notice

Forensic road collision investigation training. Forensic Collision Investigators attend all fatal and many of the most serious road collisions, where they conduct a forensic investigation and prepare technical report(s) as necessary, for criminal, Coronial and civil courts. This area of work is overseen by the Forensic Science Regulator, who is continuing to roll out accreditation requirements of all scientific processes, including that of collision investigation. Essential training and competency is integral to the ISO 17020 accreditation process that the Forensic Collision Reconstruction Unit must comply with. Awarded via GMP's exemption process as per GMP Contract Standing Orders. The date the contract is signed is the date the exemption has been approved. The contract dates are based on the requirements of the exemption and value. An exemption may not exceed its maximum value and therefore the end date may be sooner if the value is exhausted. Contracted by Greater Manchester Combined Authority for Greater Manchester Police.
