## Summary

Bristol City Council is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process for the "Supply and Maintenance of Urban Traffic Management and Control Systems (software)." This initiative, focused on services in the IT and transportation sectors, seeks to enhance urban traffic management with cutting-edge technology. It is located in the UKK11 region of the United Kingdom. The council has released a market engagement notice to gauge interest and determine the best procurement route. Interested parties can submit their expressions of interest by 5th June 2026, marking critical planning activities for this procurement process.

This tender presents significant business opportunities, particularly for SMEs that specialise in IT consulting, software development, and the installation of traffic monitoring equipment. The project requires a supplier capable of delivering scalable and technologically advanced software systems, capable of integrating with next-generation equipment. Businesses that can offer support services and training for adaptive AI multi-modal traffic control systems will find this tender particularly appealing. Successful suppliers will enter into a contract spanning from August 2027 to July 2031, providing a substantial timeframe for business growth and investment in innovative traffic solutions.

## Notice

Bristol City Council's current Contract for it's UTC/SCOOT and UTMC Common database is due to expire, and we are seeking to award a new Contract. The UTC/SCOOT systems must incorporate the latest technology and functionality available. The system will be required to be scalable and be able to integrate with both existing and next generation of equipment. BCC is currently trialling Yunex's FUSION system and seeking to move towards an Adaptive AI Multi Modal Traffic Control system with the same/equivalent functionality. Depending on the outcome of the trail a decision may be made for it to replace SCOOT. The system must be able to provide bus priority using external data feed from ticketer. The supplier will also be required to provide support and training to operators of the system.
