## Summary

The Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is currently in the tender stage of a public procurement process, titled "NEWTOWNBUTLER PEACE PLUS DEVELOPMENT PQQ -Ref TNDR CP 023H." Focusing on the construction industry, this project aims to redevelop the former Police Service of Northern Ireland site located at 48 High Street, Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh, United Kingdom. The procurement method employed is open competition, under the UKPGA legal basis 2023/54, with the tender period set to conclude on 18 June 2026. Prospective bidders have until 11 June 2026 to make enquiries. This initiative is part of a wider Peace Plus programme funded by the Special EU Programmes Body, targeting infrastructural improvements that foster communal connections. The main works include the construction of a new building with retail units, a community gymnasium, and sustainable infrastructure, valued at approximately GBP 1,680,000 gross. Construction is scheduled to commence on 7 September 2026 and end by 31 March 2028.

This tender provides significant opportunities for construction firms specialising in building and site preparation work. Businesses with experience in executing large-scale, sustainable construction projects will find this procurement particularly well-suited to their capabilities. With the emphasis on sustainable infrastructure and BREEAM excellence, firms with expertise in environmentally friendly construction practices will gain strong competitive advantages. Additionally, the project offers prospects for suppliers of construction materials, electrical installations, and utilities. Successful bidders will become part of a transformative initiative that not only promotes business growth but also contributes to long-term community development in Newtownbutler. Given the project's broad scope, collaborating enterprises could benefit from enhanced visibility and possible future opportunities within similar EU-funded programmes.
