## Summary

The Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, a central government public authority, has completed the award stage of its procurement process for the "Collections loan payment for the Genghis Khan special exhibition." The exhibition, set to run from June to November 2026, involves unique historical objects loaned from Mongolian museums, with the Chinggis Khaan National Museum acting as a key supplier. The procurement, which went through a specified process due to the unique nature of the services required, was awarded as a single supplier process based on exclusive rights. The total contract value, including VAT, is €60,000, and it was signed on 19th May 2026. The procurement method is noted as "Below threshold - unknown," and the service is classified under "museum-exhibition services."

This tender presents a unique opportunity for businesses involved in museum services and cultural exhibitions. Companies specialising in the logistics and management of art and artefact loans, exhibition design, or cultural consultancy for central government projects could greatly benefit. Businesses that have strong links with international cultural organisations, particularly with expertise in handling historical objects, would be well-suited to compete in tenders of this nature. Such partnerships not only enhance cultural exchange but also strengthen market presence and industry reputation.

## Notice

The upcoming Genghis Khan exhibition which RAM is hosting June-November 2026 is a buy-in exhibition provided by the touring exhibition company Nomad. The contract between RAM and Nomad has been signed, and part of the package for this exhibition is that the 255 objects will be loaned from Chinggis Khaan National Museum (CKNM). Being an exhibition on Genghis Khan, this exhibition requires unique historical objects that only Mongolian Museums can provide. There are 7 Mongolian Museums lending objects to us as part of this, CKNM being one of them and acting as the umbrella organisation that manages these loans. Therefore, CKNM are the only possible lenders for this exhibition, under the justification of being a single supplier: unique work of art and possession of intellectual property or other exclusive rights. As object lenders, CKNM are paid a collection loan fee by RAM separate to the exhibition hire fee that Nomad are receiving. The value of the contract is EUR50,000 without VAT, and EUR60,000 inclusive of VAT.
