## Summary

This contract involves the intention to award services under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Wales, specifically for Non-Obstetric, Obstetric, and Anomaly Ultrasound Scanning. The buying organisation is the NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust. The awarded contractor will provide medical imaging services at various Health Board sites throughout Wales, specifically in the regions of UKL11, UKL12, UKL13, and UKL23. The procurement process is in the award stage, with key dates including a standstill period ending at 11:59 pm on Friday 5th, 2026. The contract was decided via a direct award under the Crown Commercial Services RM6276 framework, bypassing the standard Public Contracts Regulations due to specific regional regulations.

This contract represents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare service provision, particularly in medical imaging and ultrasound. As the contract is valued at £1,540,000, it offers significant business growth potential for larger medical service providers like SCAN ASSURE MEDICAL ULTRASOUND LIMITED, the current successful bidder. Companies with capabilities in collaborative service delivery, sustainability, and social responsibility are well-suited to compete in this domain. Although the procurement process was limited and decided by direct award, potential suppliers could leverage insights from this award to position themselves for future opportunities concerning healthcare service provision within NHS frameworks.
