## Summary

The procurement process initiated by Derby Homes Limited, a sub-central government public authority in the UK, involves the planning stage for a tender titled "Portable Misting Systems - Maintenance, Monitoring, Removals and Installation". Located in Derby, this tender falls under the industry categories of sprinkler systems and repair and maintenance services. Derby Homes is seeking a provider to manage and maintain Portable Misting Systems primarily used to ensure the safety of vulnerable tenants. The procurement process involves a preliminary market engagement, with a deadline for interested suppliers set on 26 June 2026. The contract, expected to commence on 2 September 2026, and may be renewed, will span over a two-year period with a potential extension up to 2031.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for businesses in the maintenance and safety systems sectors, particularly those that can service and monitor misting systems to required standards. Suppliers with expertise in fire safety equipment, specifically those approved by Surefire, and adept in interfacing with the Enterprise Information System (EIS) of the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, are well-positioned to compete. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will find this contract feasible and rewarding, particularly if they can provide storage solutions and manage emergency response systems effectively. By participating in this tender, businesses can establish or strengthen their presence in public sector contracts related to safety and maintenance services.

## Notice

Derby Homes is an Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO) and is a 100% owned subsidiary of Derby City Council. It was created in 2002 to manage and maintain the Council's domestic housing stock. The function of the management and maintenance is delegated to Derby Homes, but the Council retains ownership of the housing stock, and all tenants are Council tenants. Derby Homes are running this preliminary market engagement activity to identify suppliers who maybe able to provide monitoring, maintenance, repair and replacement of current holding of Portable Misting Systems manufactured by Surefire. The provider must be an approved contractor with Surefire. Derby Homes would require that the system is to be monitored, and the emergency response warning call goes directly to Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and not via a third party. The provider should be able to access the Enterprise Information System (EIS) operated by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service. Provision for the storage of the portable misting systems is required. Derby Homes would be provided with a completed service report and other relevant reports. The equipment is required to ensure the safety of vulnerable and immobile tenants, deemed at risk, from the outbreak of a fire.
