## Summary

Perth & Kinross Council, a regional or local authority based in the United Kingdom, is planning a public procurement process for the provision of Child Disability Support and Short Breaks services under the tender ID PKC13960. This procurement falls under the "Health and social work services" category and is relevant to businesses within this sector. The service is intended to support children and young people with disabilities, as well as their parent carers, in the Perth & Kinross Council area. The planning stage is currently active, with suppliers having until midday on 16th June 2026 to express their interest and respond to preliminary questions. A future notice is expected on 10th August 2026. The procurement is anticipated to be valued at £600,000 GBP.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in health and social care services, particularly those experienced in providing child disability support and registered with the Care Inspectorate. Companies that can deliver flexible support, including evenings and weekends, will be well-suited to meet the needs of this contract. Additionally, businesses that adopt a trauma-informed approach and promote the rights of children and young people with disabilities can leverage this tender to enhance their service offerings. Successful engagement in this procurement could lead to business growth by establishing a relationship with a key regional authority and gaining experience in managing significant community-focused care projects.

## Notice

Perth and Kinross Council intend to issue a contract opportunity for Child Disability Support Services. The nature of the work would require the Supplier to be registered with the Care Inspectorate. The service will provide access to short breaks and practical caring support (including personal care to children/young people) for parent carers and children/young people in their homes and communities. Children and young people with disabilities will have better access to the support they need to meaningfully participate in their communities, to be included and to have opportunities to enjoy their childhoods/play and achieve their life potential. Support will be trauma informed and promote the rights of children and young people with disabilities. The aim of the service is to place children, young people, and parent carers at the centre of planning and directing their own support in line with their identified needs. The service will strengthen family wellbeing by ensuring that parent carers have the support they need at the earliest opportunity. Children and young people will have opportunities to learn independent living skills and to participate in activities and social opportunities. If this is achieved there will be a reduction in the likelihood of parents/carers experiencing burnout and children will be sustained in their home communities and with their families. The service will be flexible to provide support when children, young people and their parents/carers require this which will include evenings and weekends.
