## Summary

The procurement process led by the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust involves the awarding of a contract for a comprehensive clinical insourcing service for Endoscopy. The contract, titled "WPL06815 - Endoscopy Insourcing," falls within the medical specialist services industry category and is focused on the region of Southampton, UK, specifically at the Trust’s facilities. The procurement method was limited, conducted through an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, under the Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023. The contract, valued at £2,054,624 excluding VAT for its lifetime, was officially signed on 21 May 2026, with an active service provision period starting from 9 May 2026. This service is integral for supporting elective recovery and reducing patient waiting times, targeting an execution of approximately 2,496 patient procedures annually.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth in the healthcare sector, particularly for businesses providing specialised medical services such as endoscopy. The awarded contract to 18 Week Support Limited indicates a demand for efficient and skilled providers capable of delivering high-quality patient care services. Companies in the medical services industry, with a solid capability in managing healthcare procedures and personnel, would be well-placed to compete in such procurements. Opportunities exist for those able to scale services swiftly and align with the Trust's clinical and operational standards without the need for competition, especially under frameworks that permit extensions until 8 May 2028. Such contracts can be lucrative for growth while contributing positively to public health sector efficiencies.
