## Summary

The ENVIRONMENT AGENCY, operating as a sub-central government public authority, is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Boston Barrier Operation & Maintenance." This procurement aims to ensure the long-term operation and maintenance of the Boston Barrier, a critical flood defence comprising over 100 individual assets, located in London, United Kingdom. The procurement is organised through a Competitive Flexible Procedure in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023. Interested parties should note that this process has been updated from a prior notice and is planned to start service on 4th January 2027, with an expected contract period running until 30th June 2032. Additional information and potential updates will be communicated electronically, with a future notice expected by 27th July 2026.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for growth within the flood-defence maintenance and engineering services sector. It is particularly suited to businesses experienced in construction consultancy services, engineering services, and repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations. Additionally, enterprises providing construction management and consultative engineering are well-positioned to benefit. The process is designed to be inclusive of SMEs, promoting wider participation. The anticipated value of this procurement, set at £3.6 million gross, represents a significant business opportunity for those capable of meeting the technical and commercial requirements outlined in the procurement stages.

## Notice
