## Summary

NHS Highland, a regional healthcare authority based in Inverness, has completed the procurement process for the contract titled "HH375-26-TW04 Dunbar Community Hospital and MIU Medical Cover," with the industry category of medical hospital services. The contract was awarded on 1st June 2026 and relates to the provision of medical support at Dunbar Hospital in Thurso, Scotland, specifically within the North Highland area. This procurement falls under the services category and was executed using a limited procurement method, negotiated without the publication of a contract notice, due to the necessity for continuity of medical services in the community. The contract duration is two years, with an optional extension for an additional year, underpinning NHS Highland's clinical strategy to deliver localised, community-centred healthcare.

This tender represents a strategic opportunity for local medical practices, particularly those already familiar with the unique healthcare needs of Thurso and West Caithness. The awarded contract to Thurso & Halkirk Medical Practice highlights their pivotal role in maintaining the stability and quality of care as the designated supplier. Businesses adept in medical practice and related services, especially those with experience in rural healthcare settings, could find similar opportunities for growth through involvement in community-driven healthcare projects. Engaging in such procurements allows businesses to expand their operational scope while contributing significantly to public health objectives.
