## Summary

The Forestry Commission, operating through Forestry England, is seeking to procure suppliers for a Mulching Framework in the South England Forest District. This procurement falls under the industry category of services incidental to forestry and is being conducted via an open procedure. The areas covered include regions in Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, and West Sussex. Currently, the process is in the "tender" stage, with the tender period closing on 17 August 2026, followed by an award period ending on 16 September 2026. Interested suppliers should note the enquiry period closing on 5 August 2026. Contracts within this framework are set to start on 1 October 2026 and will last until 30 September 2030.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in forestry-related services, particularly those with capabilities in mulching, handling steep slopes, emergency fire response, and dealing with invasive species. It's particularly suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), offering a robust framework agreement where multiple suppliers could be onboarded. This enables suppliers to participate in mini-competitions for higher-value projects exceeding £15,000, providing consistent work streams and opportunities to showcase expertise across various forestry tasks. Engaging in this tender could significantly elevate business profiles and expand operational reach within Southern England's forestry sector.
