## Summary

Transport for London has recently completed a procurement process for the manufacture of Driver Access Platforms (DAPs) as part of the Piccadilly Line Upgrade programme at Arnos Grove, London. The tender, titled "TFL PLU Driver Access Platforms for Arnos Grove," falls under the utilities category. The procurement was conducted through a limited competition method, which is below the standard threshold, due to its unique requirements. The contract, signed on 3rd June 2026, has a timeline starting from 12th June 2026 and ending on 17th January 2027, with an optional extension of 12 months if necessary due to project delays. The entire process completed with the award being officially made on 2nd June 2026 to DURA COMPOSITES LIMITED, a supplier based in Clacton-On-Sea, United Kingdom.

This tender offers significant business growth potential for suppliers of access platform systems, particularly those specialised in railway infrastructure enhancements. SMEs in the manufacturing of goods within the rail sector could find opportunities, especially given the contract's scope and financial value of £215,642. The procurement method indicates a competitive but controlled entry, encouraging participation by entities capable of dealing with public utility requirements while also fostering innovation in public transport solutions. Such contracts also highlight the importance of meeting precise delivery schedules, making it suitable for businesses with a track record of reliability and compliance in regulated environments.

## Notice

The Piccadilly Line Upgrade (PLU) programme will increase overall capacity of the Piccadilly Line by the renewal of life-expired train systems and supporting infrastructure. PLU are introducing new 24 Train Stock (24TS) as part of the PLU programme and as part of this, ten Driver Access Platform (DAPs) must be manufactured at Arnos Grove to accommodate the migration from the current 73TS to the new 24TS. The DAPs will provide a safe platform for Train Operators to board and alight both train types at the sidings
