## Summary

The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, in collaboration with multiple other health and social care trusts across Northern Ireland, is overseeing a procurement process titled "Orthopaedics – Trauma and Joint Replacement Products." This process focuses on the goods category within the medical industry, specifically for the supply and delivery of orthopaedic products. The framework agreement is to be established by the Business Services Organisation Procurement and Logistics Service. Located in Belfast, the process currently stands in the tender stage, with a submission deadline on 14th July 2026. Enquiries are open until 7th July 2026, with an anticipated award by 14th August 2026. The total estimated contract value is £126 million, and the procurement method is open, allowing for competitive participation.

This procurement process presents significant business opportunities, particularly for firms specialising in medical devices and orthopaedic supplies. Businesses with expertise in trauma and joint replacement products can benefit from this framework agreement, which not only allows for direct supply but opens the potential for long-term collaboration with major healthcare buyers across Northern Ireland. Since the processes allow for both competition reopening and potential contract renewal for up to 24 months, companies that can meet the technical and economic selection criteria and maintain high-quality standards are likely to thrive. This framework provides an ideal platform for businesses aiming to expand their clientele within the public healthcare sector. The procurement is aligned with Northern Irish devolved regulations and is set under the governance of central government public authorities, providing a stable environment for growth and contract fulfilment.
