## Summary

West Berkshire Council is planning a "Meet The Buyer" event that aims to facilitate engagement with local businesses. Scheduled for 25th June 2026, the event will be held at Shaw House, Newbury, from 09:00 to 16:00. This initiative is in the planning stage and is designed to provide insights into public procurement and the Council's buying process. The event will include sessions on procurement strategy, social care, and the use of AI, and is particularly accessible for SMEs, social enterprises, and voluntary organisations interested in a wide range of industry categories, from agricultural and transport to IT and social services.

Attending the "Meet The Buyer" event presents an excellent growth opportunity for businesses aiming to expand their reach within the public sector. It is especially beneficial for SMEs, voluntary organisations, and social enterprises. With a focus on inclusivity and the introduction of new market strategies, participating businesses can explore potential collaborations and contracts with West Berkshire Council. This event is suitable for organisations involved in diverse sectors such as IT services, construction, health and social work, and many more, offering them a platform to engage directly with procurement officers and gain a competitive edge in securing future contracts.
