## Summary

The procurement process conducted by The Secretary of State for the Home Department has resulted in a contract award for the Control Rooms Mobilisation under the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme. Softcat PLC, with Zetron Limited as a key sub-contractor, was awarded the contract through a direct award procedure. The procurement falls within the goods category, specifically concerning the provision of Integrated Communications Control Systems (ICCS) and related software. This process is classified under the main industry category of Networking, Internet, and intranet software, and the contract was signed on 22nd May 2026. The procurement method used was a limited procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, following the guidelines of the RM6259 Vertical Application Solutions Framework, and the process has been completed and is active.

This contract award presents considerable opportunities for companies specialising in communications and software development, particularly those experienced in providing solutions for emergency services. The procurement requires the deployment of both ICCS and non-ICCS software, making it an attractive venture for businesses with expertise in software integration and support services. Further opportunities may arise from optional extensions and end-user services, allowing companies to establish long-term partnerships with the Home Office. Businesses with the capability to deliver sophisticated software solutions tailored to existing systems will find this procurement particularly rewarding, as the requirements align with continuous technological advancements in public safety communications infrastructure.
