## Summary

The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is overseeing a procurement process for renewing the contract regarding GP-led memory clinics in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. This initiative falls under the services category and focuses on general-practitioner services, specifically to enhance dementia care within primary care settings. The procurement process is in the Award stage, with an intention notice published on 16th June 2026, and the standstill period concludes on 25th June 2026. The contract is valued at £204,847.50, with the initial period set from 1st July 2026 until 31st March 2027, and potential extensions up to 31st March 2029 under the Provider Selection Regime Wales (PSR Wales). The procurement method used is a direct award process without prior publication of a call for competition, ensuring continuity and efficient service delivery. The key decision-making body, the Medicine Clinical Board, has sanctioned this method given the stability and local knowledge, alongside a lack of significant changes to service scope or funding.

This contract presents considerable opportunities for businesses proficient in delivering healthcare services, especially those experienced in dementia care and capable of operating in community-focused settings. The procurement specifies a continuation with established providers such as Catrin Roberts GP-led memory clinic, Llandaff North Medical Centre, Penarth Healthcare Partnership, Western Vale Family Practice, and Lucy Lazarus, all adept at addressing local healthcare needs. Companies considering involvement in such tenders should demonstrate a robust understanding of GP services and dementia care, alongside capabilities to integrate well within local health systems. SMEs with a focus on healthcare innovation and community engagement would find this an avenue for significant growth and contribution to essential public health services in Wales.
