## Summary

The Southend-on-Sea City Council is initiating a procurement process for "TC14L2 - Responsive Electrical Repairs and Maintenance Services for Public Buildings within the City of Southend-on-Sea." This tender involves the provision of electrical installation, repairs, and maintenance services across public and leased buildings, including schools. The council seeks an experienced contractor capable of fulfilling quoted works up to £5,000.00 with requirements for quick response times to issues reported. Businesses interested should ensure registration with recognised competent person schemes such as NICEIC or NAPIT. This contract, managed under an open procedure and let under the JCT Measured Term Contract 2024 Edition, encompasses a three-year period with the possibility to extend by up to two additional years. The procurement stage is currently in the tender phase, closing on 24th July 2026, with the contract expected to commence on 1st December 2026. The total gross contract value is estimated at £594,000.00 GBP.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in electrical repair and installation services, particularly those adept at delivering quality services within tight timeframes. The procurement is open to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), providing an excellent opportunity for such businesses to expand their portfolio by partnering with a public authority in a structured, long-term arrangement. Given the potential for changes due to Local Government Reorganisation, businesses equipped to adapt to dynamic project environments will benefit. With a focus on quality and price evaluation (30% and 70% weight respectively), competitive pricing strategies will be instrumental in securing a contract. Participation requires electronic submission through the council’s e-tender facility, underscoring the necessity for technological readiness on the part of the bidding company.
