The modification extends the range of dental treatments delivered under the contract but does not alter its fundamental purpose, which continues to be the delivery of NHS dental services to the same patient population within a primary care setting. The additional services fall within the established NHS tiered dental pathway and are designed to be delivered in primary care by practitioners with enhanced skills. They represent an increase in the complexity of services provided rather than the introduction of a new or distinct service line. Endodontic and periodontal treatments are already within the scope of general dental care at a basic level, and this modification builds on that existing clinical foundation.
