## Summary

Powys County Council is currently seeking experienced and competent contractors for a tender titled "Fire Door Inspections, Remedials and Replacements across the County of Powys, Mid Wales." This procurement process is in the tender stage and follows an open procedure, allowing for broad participation. The contract is structured in lots to address various needs across North and South Powys for both corporate and housing properties. Interested suppliers must submit their responses by 17th July 2026, with the tender officially closing for enquiries on 10th July 2026. The procurement sums up to a gross value of £4,500,000, focusing on fire safety services including inspections, remedial works, and the replacement of fire doors. Located in Llandrindod Wells, this project prioritises compliance with standards and is backed by legal mandates under UK legislation 2023/54.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, especially for companies specialised in fire safety equipment provisioning, construction, and property maintenance. It is well-suited to businesses possessing the necessary certifications such as UKAS-accredited fire door assessment and safety certifications like the SSIP. Companies that are certified under Constructionline Silver will find themselves particularly positioned to compete. The scope across multiple lots allows businesses to bid for one or several contracts, depending on their capacity to handle simultaneous projects, making it an attractive proposition for SMEs and VCSE organisations. Additionally, successful bidders must demonstrate compliance with insurance requirements and relevant qualifications, enhancing the project's reliability and offering sustained business through potential contract renewals.
