## Summary

The Gentoo Group, a prominent public undertaking based in Sunderland, UK, has initiated the planning stage for its Responsive Roofing Repairs and Maintenance Framework for 2026-2030. This procurement process is designed to enhance the maintenance of domestic roofing, including garages, within the Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, or Teesside regions. Scheduled to begin in October 2026 and concluding by September 2030, the framework targets the industry category of 'Roof repair and maintenance work' with an estimated total value of £2,400,000. The current focus is on pre-market engagement, and a key deadline for interested parties to note is 30th June 2026 for the initial engagement phase. The procurement involves establishing a framework agreement with up to six suppliers to provide routine and reactive roofing repair services.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in roofing and maintenance to expand their reach within the public sector. Companies, notably SMEs, that specialise in high-quality, responsive roofing services and have an operational presence in the specified regions stand a good chance of success in this competitive tender. By participating in this framework, businesses can collaborate closely with Gentoo Group to deliver essential maintenance services, enhancing their portfolio and customer base. The framework encourages interest from contractors willing to align with Gentoo's commitment to quality, reliability, and customer focus, thus allowing business growth through long-term partnerships.

## Notice

Gentoo Group require the establishment of a framework agreement of up to 6 suppliers to support our Property Maintenance department with routine and reactive repair works / small scale replacements to roofing on our domestic properties (including garages).

### Planning Information

Gentoo Group is pleased to publish this pre-market engagement notice to generate early interest in our forthcoming Responsive Roofing Repairs and Maintenance Framework 2026–2030.
The Responsive Repairs and Maintenance Roofing Framework is intended to support the delivery of day to day, reactive and minor planned roofing works across individual properties.
The primary focus of work awarded under this Framework will be:
• Routine and responsive roofing repairs
• Maintenance activities to address defects, leaks, and failures
• Localised remedial works to extend roof life and maintain safety and compliance
This opportunity represents a key long-term investment in maintaining and improving our housing stock across the region. We are keen to engage with capable and committed contractors who can deliver high-quality, responsive roofing services and contribute to excellent outcomes for our customers.
We strongly encourage interested contractors to begin considering their approach to resourcing and mobilisation. Tenderers will be required to confirm that, at the commencement of the Framework, they have suitably qualified roofing operatives based within the Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, or Teesside region. Ideally, this should be supported by access to a locally based depot, compound, yard, or operational office, enabling the effective deployment of operatives, plant, vehicles, and materials.
Gentoo Group is committed to working collaboratively with its supply chain and welcomes interest from organisations that share our values of quality, reliability, and customer focus. We look forward to receiving competitive submissions from the market when the tender is formally released.
