## Summary

The NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) intends to award a contract to Lakeside Medical Diagnostics Ltd to provide Community Ultrasound Non-Obstetric Services within the Mid and South Essex area. This procurement falls under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, distinctly separate from the Public Contract Regulations 2015. The contract, valued at £804,393, is set for a 12-month term from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027. This announcement marks the commencement of the standstill period, with provider representations to be submitted by midnight on Friday, 3rd July 2026. The procurement process was limited and conducted without prior publication of a call for competition as it falls outside the application scope of the directive.

Business opportunities arise from this procurement in the community health services industry, specifically for providers capable of delivering ultrasound services. Companies with a track record of integrating quality, value, innovation, and social value within healthcare services would be well-positioned to compete. The contract underscores collaboration and service sustainability and is appealing for SMEs like the existing provider, Lakeside Medical Diagnostics Ltd, who has been successfully fulfilling the original contract requirements. Potential providers should demonstrate their ability to address health inequalities and enhance service access while maintaining high service standards.
