## Summary

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme Limited, based in London, has initiated a procurement process under the title "FSCS 579 - Legal Panel Framework." This procurement, set within the public undertaking sector, involves a competitive flexible procedure due to the need for various legal services. The tendering phase is currently active, with a final submission deadline for expressions of interest on 21st July 2026, and the procurement process will conclude with contract awards by 30th November 2026. The framework is structured into two lots: Lot 1, focusing on Core Legal Services with a value up to £20,000,000, and Lot 2, addressing Employment Law and Ancillary Services valued at £400,000. This framework will last for a maximum of four years, including a possible one-year extension.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for law firms specialising in financial and employment law. Businesses that could thrive within this framework include those capable of offering broad legal and advisory services, particularly firms experienced in handling public sector requirements. Participation does not require suppliers to bid for both lots, although it could provide more comprehensive engagement with the scheme. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can participate, particularly those adept in delivering robust and versatile legal support to public institutions. This tender not only provides avenues for increasing legal service portfolios but also allows businesses to navigate through practical implementation of statutory frameworks, thus reinforcing their expertise and market presence.
