## Summary

The NHS Essex Integrated Care Board has confirmed the award of a contract for General Acute Services to Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. This contract falls under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and has been executed through a direct award process, bypassing the need for prior publication of a competitive call. The procurement process is categorised under the service industry, specifically "Health services," and covers the region of UKH3. The contract, valued at £15,971,000, commenced on 1st April 2026 and is set to conclude on 31st March 2027. This decision was made by the Finance and Investment Committee and the ICB Main Board, ensuring no conflicts of interest influenced the process.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for businesses in the healthcare services sector, especially those with capabilities in delivering General Acute Services. The procurement's limited method, based on a direct award due to the unique position of the supplier, indicates that similar opportunities may arise in sectors where specialised services are required and competition is minimal. Businesses looking to expand within NHS frameworks might focus on forming strategic partnerships or enhancing their service offerings to align with the specific needs of healthcare authorities, ensuring they are well-positioned to respond to similar procurement processes in the future.
