## Summary

The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Cumbria, alongside the Cumbria Commissioner Fire and Rescue Authority, have commissioned Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Services. This procurement process facilitated through a direct award involves providing comprehensive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy support services to employees of the PFCC, Cumbria Constabulary, and CCFRA. The procurement falls under the industry category of counselling services, specifically targeting organisations within the UKD1 region, United Kingdom. The contract, valued at £98,000, started on 1st April 2026 and is set to conclude on 31st March 2027, with an option to extend until 31st March 2028. The procurement was completed using a 'below threshold - without competition' method, as part of a light-touch regime, reflecting the procurement stage tagged as 'award' and 'contract'.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in psychological and mental health services, particularly those offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. With the ongoing direct need for bespoke therapeutic services for law enforcement and rescue personnel, businesses with expertise in resilience training and trauma processing can effectively contribute and expand their service portfolios. The collaborative nature of future procurement exercises suggests a broader scope for interested parties to showcase innovation in therapeutic solutions that can be delivered both remotely and in-person, thus allowing diversification and growth within public sector contracts.
