## Summary

Cambridge City Council is currently in the tender stage of procurement for the "Holocaust Memorial Day" programme, aiming to engage service providers in the delivery and development of activities from September 2026 to June 2027. This contract opportunity is split into two main lots, focusing on educational programmes and civic events, with the primary aim of fostering awareness and empathy regarding the Holocaust and other genocides. The tender falls under the services category for "Cultural event organisation services," with activities taking place in the Cambridge region UKH12. Interested parties are required to submit their bids by 31st July 2026, and the enquiry period ends on 24th July 2026. The procurement method is an open competition, offering a below-threshold opportunity, ideal for SMEs and VCSEs.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in cultural and educational event organisation, particularly those with a focus on community engagement and social awareness programmes. Organisations with existing connections to educational institutions, faith groups, and community service entities could greatly benefit from participating in this tender. The council seeks to foster long-term relationships with providers who can continually contribute to the development of Holocaust Memorial Day activities, which implies potential for contract renewal and ongoing collaboration beyond the initial contract period. Thus, businesses that thrive on community-led projects and those with expertise in educational outreach stand to gain substantially from these opportunities.
