## Summary

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Northumbria is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the project titled "NP0573 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT SERVICES." This initiative, located in the Northumberland region, seeks to engage suppliers in a preliminary market engagement to explore mental health support services for police personnel. The procurement focuses on the health services industry, with a document due date set for 11 July 2026. Potential suppliers interested in participating should contact Helen Hetherington via email to obtain the necessary Request for Information (RFI) documents. The intended contract period is from November 2026 to October 2027, with possibilities for renewal extending into 2028.

This tender presents a promising opportunity for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those focusing on mental health support. It is ideal for organisations capable of offering comprehensive support for trauma, significant life events, and mental health conditions affecting professional performance and personal wellbeing. With its focus on sub-central government needs, the tender is especially suited for SMEs looking to expand by partnering with public authorities. Participating in this RFI could pave the way for creating an integrated support framework for the Northumbria Police, helping to address capacity gaps in internal mental health services and potentially securing a place in a long-term provisioning plan.

## Notice

Northumbria Police (the "Force") invites suppliers to participate in a Request for Information (RFI). This market engagement exercise is intended to assess the range of mental health support options currently available to support Northumbria Police Officers, Staff and Volunteers. We are seeking information from organisations that can provide timely mental health support when internal service demand exceeds capacity. The provider should be able to support individuals experiencing a broad range of mental health difficulties, including: * Trauma-related presentations * Significant life events impacting wellbeing and work performance * Mental health conditions affecting attendance, performance, decision-making, relationships, or ability to fulfil role requirements The Force intends to procure an agreement for the provision of Mental Health Support, to ensure staff are provided with appropriate support services. The outcome of the RFI process will help us determine our procurement strategy moving forward.

### Planning Information

Interested suppliers should e mail: helen.hetherington@northumbria.police.uk for a copy of the RFI document which details the services in scope and the process for submitting information.
Following the conclusion of the RFI process, the responses received will be reviewed to ascertain the best procurement route forward before proceeding through our internal governance process. Once we can provide an update on the next steps, any Supplier that has registered an interest will be contacted using the contact information provided in this document.
