## Summary

The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has issued a contract award for the "Pathology Managed Service for Midlands & East 2 Network" under the NHS Supply Chain Framework. This procurement process falls under the services industry, specifically focusing on pathology services as classified by CPV code 85111800. The award was made without a prior call for competition, in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, following a further competition under Lot 1 of the applicable framework. The award was confirmed on 4th June 2026, with Roche Diagnostics Ltd selected as the successful supplier for a contract initially valued at approximately £25,000,000, with the potential for the total contract value to reach between £25,000,000 and £155,300,000. The contract is active and includes a ten-year term with the option to extend by an additional two years.

This award presents significant opportunities for businesses within the pathology and healthcare services sector. Companies specialising in laboratory diagnostics, point of care testing, and managed services could benefit from subcontracting or partnership arrangements, especially in delivering Phase 2 services, which encompass immunology, blood transfusion, POCT, and various specialities including biochemistry, cellular pathology, and microbiology. The project encompasses a wide geographic scope, covering a network of NHS Trusts within the Midlands and East region, including key locations such as Derby, Leicester, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and North Lincolnshire, thus making it suitable for organisations with robust delivery capabilities and a focus on healthcare innovation.
