## Summary

The UK Atomic Energy Authority is spearheading a procurement process for the Tritium Safety Diagnostics project, currently in the planning stage as of July 2026. This initiative focuses on the Lithium Breeding Tritium Innovation (LIBRTI) Programme, aiming to enhance the UK’s capability in fusion fuel technologies by ensuring safety and environmental protection through robust monitoring systems. The procurement pertains to the goods category, specifically nuclear safety equipment and radiation monitors, to be deployed at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. An initial deadline for engagement is set for 23 July 2026, with a formal notice anticipated by 30 July 2026. The total contract value is projected at £480,000, with the performance period slated from September 2026 to March 2027.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in nuclear safety and radiation monitoring equipment, particularly those focused on innovation and advancing fusion energy solutions. Small and medium-sized enterprises are encouraged to participate, offering potential to establish strong partnerships with a leading research authority. Success in this procurement could enable a foothold in the burgeoning fusion energy sector, capitalising on cutting-edge developments within the UK and beyond. The project not only offers substantial growth potential within the nuclear field but also aligns with broader energy and environmental safety initiatives.
