## Summary

The North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is in the process of awarding a contract for non-urgent patient transportation services, focusing on efficient patient discharge between the University Hospital of North Tees and the University Hospital of Hartlepool. This service falls under the health services category within the services procurement sector and the procurement stage is currently at the award phase. A Direct Award C process has been employed due to the current provider, EMED Group Limited, fulfilling prior contractual obligations to a satisfactory level. The proposed contract is expected to be active from 1st August 2026 to 31st July 2028, with an option to extend an additional year. The annual contract value is approximately £624,000. Business can engage with the contracting authority up until 24th July 2026 during the standstill period.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses specialised in providing health-related transportation services, enabling potential growth through collaboration with the NHS. Large scale, well-established firms with capabilities in managing continuous and efficient transport logistics might find this contract well-suited to their operations. The contract's requirement to operate 24/7 across multiple healthcare facilities could be particularly attractive to businesses that already service or aim to expand in regions such as North Tees and Hartlepool. The procurement method bypasses the traditional competitive tendering process, providing a direct avenue for capable providers to secure a long-term partnership with the NHS.

## Notice
