## Summary

The Mining Remediation Authority (MRA), a central government public authority based in Nottinghamshire, is currently in the planning stage for a procurement process related to Wireline Geologging and Topographical Surveys. The initiative focuses on services within the mining sector, with a specific emphasis on managing the effects of historical coal mining activities across various regions in the United Kingdom. Key dates include a milestone engagement for interested parties to register by 31st August 2026. The actual procurement process is expected to commence in January 2027, culminating in the start of the contract period from 2nd July 2027 to 1st July 2031, with an estimated contract value of £1,800,000 (gross). The procurement involves a framework agreement setup to ensure the involvement of suitably qualified partners.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for companies specialising in geologging, topographical, and well-support services. Businesses capable of leveraging drone technology for surveys or those with experience in down borehole monitoring could greatly benefit from this tender. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate due to the suitability conditions set for potential partners. Engaging in this contract could help businesses expand their service offerings, increase their market presence across multiple UK regions, and engage with a central government body, potentially opening doors to further contracts in the public sector.
