## Summary

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is in the planning stage of a procurement process seeking professional services for the Beijing New Embassy Project. This project, located both in the UK and China, involves constructing a new British Embassy, Ambassador's Residence, and staff accommodation in Beijing. Key milestones include a preliminary market engagement, with a deadline for interested parties to submit their expression of interest by 7th August 2026. The industry category focuses on services, specifically construction management and project consultancy, under the legal basis of UK legislation 2023/54.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly in the professional services sector, including those offering project management, quantity surveying, and health and safety consultancy services. Companies experienced in international operations, especially within China, who can provide staff able to meet security clearances are well-suited to compete. The engagement aims to inform FCDO's procurement strategy and finalise its requirements, offering potential for business growth through involvement in a high-profile governmental project that may demand a mix of local and international expertise. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, with suitability noted in the procurement process.
