## Summary

Worcestershire County Council has completed the direct award contract for the "HEA26042 - Family Hubs Direct Award 2026," which is a part of a national initiative led by the Department for Education. This project falls under the industry category of community and social services, specifically aiming to expand Family Hubs in areas of higher deprivation within the UK, particularly in the Wyre Forest District. The contract was signed on 1st April 2026, with services set to run until 31st March 2027, concerning a value of £35,700. This initiative is aligned with the "Giving Every Child the Best Start in Life" strategy, focusing on enhancing the local infrastructure and support for families with young children. The procurement stage of this contract is listed as awarded, and it was executed via a direct award method, bypassing competition due to its below-threshold value.

This contract presents substantial opportunities for businesses within the social services sector, especially those involved in children's education, health services, and family support areas. Companies capable of developing and implementing family-oriented programmes, offering parental support, or expanding community outreach and peer support services would find a promising growth avenue within this framework. Furthermore, these businesses will have the chance to collaborate with Worcestershire County Council and other local entities, strengthening community networks and enhancing service delivery. The contract demonstrates a significant opportunity for entities like large-scale social enterprises and those within the voluntary sector to play a vital role in community development and support.
