## Summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is overseeing the award of a contract for the provision of microsuction services to private patients in the Northumberland and North Tyneside areas. This procurement falls under the 'services' category of the healthcare industry, specifically classified as medical practice and related services. The procurement method used is a limited procedure without a prior publication of a call for competition, conforming to the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023. The contract announcement was made on 24th July 2026, with a standstill period for provider representations ending at midnight on 6th August 2026. The contract, valued at £117,060, is set for 12 months with an optional 12-month extension and has been awarded to Expert Microsuction Ltd, following the PSR Direct Award Process Option C.

This tender presents an opportunity for medical service providers specialising in ear care and related health services to understand the competitive standards set by existing providers. Businesses operating in the Northumberland and North Tyneside regions, particularly those with the capacity to deliver specialised medical services to private patients, may find business growth prospects by aligning with the procurement standards. While the selection process for this specific contract is complete, understanding the criteria and the PSR guidelines can position similar service providers for future opportunities in healthcare services procurement. The focus on consistent standards and the scope for contractual extensions make it a compelling prospect for businesses aiming to expand their service offerings within the healthcare sector.
