## Summary

The procurement process conducted by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust relates to the Children and Young People (CYP) Eating Disorder Pathology Service. This procurement, categorised under "Hospital support services" within the services sector, is geographically located in the United Kingdom. As of 24th July 2026, the process is at the award stage, with an active contract dated for the same day. The procurement method is limited, carried out without prior publication of a call for competition, and falls under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) rather than the Procurement Act 2023. Representations by providers must be made by 5th August 2026, with the service intended to operate from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027.

This tender presents significant opportunities for entities with established capabilities in NHS services and those focusing on hospital support services, particularly in pathology. Businesses with robust clinical and technical infrastructure, capable of integrating into existing NHS pathways, would be well-suited to compete. The presence of a satisfactory quality standard from the current provider sets a benchmark for entrants, emphasizing the importance of compliance with clinical governance and information security. The emphasis on quality and innovation in the award criteria also suggests that organisations investing in service sustainability and social value could leverage this tender for growth. The contract has an approximate lifetime value of £4,000, marking it as a potential avenue for strategic partnerships and expansion within the healthcare service sector.

## Notice

The service was originally awarded under Direct Award A due to sole provider/pathway dependency. CWP is now continuing with the existing provider under Direct Award C as UHNM NMCPS has consistently delivered the CYP Eating Disorder Pathology Service to a satisfactory standard, with no quality concerns, and the service model is fully embedded within the clinical pathway.
