### Procurement Information

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust intends to award a contract to Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) for the provision of Life Support training accreditation and certification services. The Trust requires nationally recognised RCUK-accredited training and certification for its clinical workforce. RCUK is the sole owner and provider of the accreditation, certification, course materials and quality assurance arrangements associated with these programmes. No alternative supplier can provide official RCUK accreditation or certification. It has been therefore determined that only RCUK can meet its requirements and that the contract may be awarded directly under the Procurement Act 2023 due to the absence of competition for technical reasons and the existence of exclusive rights. The absence of competition is not a result of the artificial narrowing of the parameters of the procurement.
