## Summary

NHS England has completed a public procurement process titled "Urgent Award - haematological screening" under the industry category of blood analysis services. The procurement responds to an urgent need due to unforeseeable circumstances, requiring a mass haematological screening of prisoners within the East of England. The contract was awarded on 29th July 2026 and is set to run until the end of September 2026. The procurement was conducted through a limited method without prior publication of a call for competition, invoking the extreme urgency clause. This contract is valued at £16,202 and has been awarded to Revvity (UK) Limited, highlighting the process's focus on immediate public health intervention.

This contract offers substantial growth opportunities for businesses that specialise in urgent health service deployment, particularly those focusing on blood analysis services. Given the requirement for rapid delivery under pressing circumstances, companies with swift operational capacity and expertise in healthcare services, notably small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) like Revvity (UK) Limited, are well-suited to such opportunities. The procurement highlights the need for agility and the ability to rapidly address public health emergencies, an aspect organisations in this sector can leverage for future contracts.
