        "procurementMethodRationale": "New sensors will be required to replace existing stock deemed beyond economical repair for 2027 and beyond. The Marine Moored Buoy network exclusively uses the Motus Wave sensor. Xylem are the sole UK distributor for the Motus Wave Sensor. A significant amount of engineering effort has been dedicated to integrating MOTUS wave sensors into the Marine Moored Network, where they are the sole wave sensor used by the Met Office across our Moored ODAS buoy sites. Previous acceptance trials have demonstrated that MOTUS is an exceptionally accurate and reliable sensor. Continuity of sensor supply enables standardisation of fleet technology and provides technically identical outputs for reliable scientific comparability of readings.",
