## Summary

The NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board intends to award a contract for the provision of health services, specifically focusing on Acute Visiting, Single Point of Access, and Urgent Care Centre appointments across St Helens. This contract follows a limited procurement method under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and marks the procurement's current stage as an 'intention to award.' The announcement is part of the award phase, where the contract starts on 1st October 2026 and ends on 30th September 2028. Providers have eight working days from 31st July 2026 to present any representations, with the value of this two-year contract amounting to £1,849,660. The services are classified under the health services category (CPV: 85100000) and are aimed at improving access and reducing health inequalities for the region's residents.

This procurement offers significant business growth opportunities for entities capable of delivering health services tailored to local community needs. Companies already established in the health sector, particularly those with expertise in providing integrated and sustainable care solutions, are well-positioned to compete. The focus on enhancing service accessibility, innovation, and integration aligns with the criteria prioritised by the buying organisation, which includes social value, service sustainability, and quality. Businesses with a track record of collaboration with healthcare providers, combined with the capacity to address urgent health needs efficiently, can leverage this contract to establish or expand their operations within the UK health services market.

## Notice

The following relates to services commissioned across Cheshire & Merseyside ICB - St Helens: Acute Visiting Service: The Acute Visiting Service provides a home visiting service that is accessed by General Practices when an urgent appointment is required by a housebound patient who is at risk of needing to attend A&E or hospital admission if not seen very quickly. Single Point of Access: The Single Point of Access enables health and care professionals to access community services, treatment centres and urgent care when a patient requires this via one contact point. This helps to ensure patients access the correct part of the system quickly and appropriately. Patients only access acute services when necessary and via a route that is clinical tested. Urgent Care Centre: The Urgent Care Centre provides on the day GP appointments for practices to book for their patients that require an urgent appointment but have no appointments to offer.
